The proper identification, handling, and disposal of Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and non-RCRA wastes are a complex issue. The RCRA governs the regulations for the generation, transportation, storage, treatment, and disposal of hazardous wastes, and calls for severe penalties should the regulations be violated.
Some of EWMA's Waste Management Services include:
Hazardous Waste Disposal and Reporting
EWMA has qualified Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (CHMM) to handle your waste disposal and management needs, so you can be certain your firm is complying with hazardous waste regulations in a cost-effective manner. From lab packing, transportation, and disposal of hazardous wastes, to recycling of concrete or petroleum contaminated soil, EWMA’s experienced waste management team ensures that your company’s risk and liability are minimized.
Federal and state regulations require facilities that are generators of hazardous waste to submit waste generator reports to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and/or New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) on an annual basis. EWMA has extensive experience helping clients prepare and file their annual waste generator reports. EWMA will make the annual waste generator report process flow easily and will ensure that the waste generator report is concise, factually correct, and submitted in a timely manner.
Sometimes an abandoned facility that has come under the scrutiny of environmental regulators contains waste that is not hazardous by regulatory definition (called Non-Hazardous waste), but still needs to be disposed of in a safe and professional manner in accordance with other environmental laws and regulations. Our team is prepared to deal with Non-Hazardous waste, too, in the most cost-effective and timely waste disposal method best suited for our client.
Lab Packing and Consolidation
EWMA has extensive experience Lab Packing unknown chemical and hazardous wastes. Lab Packing is a process by which containers with unknown chemical or hazardous wastes are classified, segregated, and packaged for disposal at a certified waste facility.
Lab packing can include the classification and repackaging of chemical or hazardous waste containers that are in poor condition. It can also include the consolidation of chemical or hazardous waste containers for the purpose of implementing the most cost-effective waste disposal option. Consolidation can save customers money by avoiding unnecessary surcharges for improperly classified / labeled waste containers.

Waste Minimization
Federal and state regulations require facilities that generate hazardous waste to submit waste minimization reports to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The New Jersey Pollution Prevention Act and other environmental regulations require facilities that generate hazardous waste to conduct an assessment of their manufacturing processes to determine if they can be modified or redesigned to prevent or minimize pollution at the source.
Waste minimization efforts can include a wide variety of activities, including redesigning manufacturing processes to make them less wasteful, reduction of waste at the source, use of alternative raw materials, on-site pre-treatment or neutralization of waste, on-site or off-site recycling of waste, and more.
EWMA has extensive experience with pollution prevention assessments engineering and will assist your manufacturing facility to determine the best solution to reduce the amount of pollution your facility generates. We also help clients produce and file their annual waste minimization reports. EWMA will make the annual reporting process flow easily and will ensure that the waste minimization report is concise, factually correct, and submitted in a timely manner.
