 EWMA Enhances Regulatory Compliance, Due Diligence and Wetlands Services
Recent staff additions have significantly increased EWMA’s ability to provide in-house regulatory compliance, due diligence and wetlands services to our clients.
Margaret Halasnik, EWMA’s Director of Compliance Services, has over nine years of experience performing regulatory compliance services for a global environmental services firm and twenty years of experience in the environmental field. Margaret has provided a wide array of environmental regulatory compliance services, including consulting related to federal and state air, water, wastewater, hazardous and solid waste, spill prevention, asbestos, pesticide management, emergency planning and community right-to-know, regulated medical waste, site remediation, and evaluation of related applicable permit requirements. Margaret’s health and safety compliance experience has included safety hazard assessments, as well as evaluation of hazard communication, machine guarding, respiratory protection, control of hazardous energy (lockout/tag out), emergency preparedness, personal protective equipment, laser safety, and noise and hearing conservation programs, among others. She has completed and/or participated as a corporate audit team member on numerous site-wide regulatory environmental and/or health & safety compliance audits of manufacturing, hospital, power-generating, and commercial entities throughout the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area to ensure a facility is operating within the current regulatory framework. Site audits can vary in length from one day to one week or more depending upon program objectives. Audits typically involve opening and closing meetings with senior site personnel, audits, identifying deficiencies, recommending, designing, and/or implementing corrective actions, preparing draft and final reports, and responding to corporate/client comments.
Anthony Kaufman, a Geologist, has more than twenty years experience as an environmental consultant in geology, hydrogeology, hazardous waste management and environmental consulting services. A significant area of his practice includes providing environmental due diligence support for clients and project sites throughout the United States and abroad. Mr. Kaufman works closely with his clients to characterize, understand and address environmental concerns and environmental business risk issues as they relate to acquisition and divestiture and property transfer. He helps to qualify and quantify environmental liabilities and to identify strategies to overcome environmental obstacles. His experience includes support for both multi site, portfolio and single site projects in a variety of industries, and he has served clients on a nationwide and global basis. He has helped clients develop and implement assessment programs and policies and in support of corporate programs and goals. His experience includes working directly with law firms, commercial and industrial clients coordinating and conducting environmental due diligence, assessment, investigation, remedial responses for individual project sites for manufacturing facilities, office buildings, commercial properties, residential developments, and brownfields projects.
Nicholas M. D’Ambrosio, an Environmental Scientist, has over eight years experience in the environmental consulting industry. Mr. D’Ambrosios’ expertise includes: wetland delineation (soils, hydrology and vegetation), characterization of wetland type and evaluation of associated functions and values, assessment of development-related impacts, mitigation, construction and restoration, permit acquisition, threatened and endangered species studies, regulatory compliance, due diligence and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He also holds various certifications including United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Watershed Academy: Online Watershed Management, Global Positioning System (GPS) Mapping and GIS Data Collection. |
