Child Care Facilty Grants Available - 1/17/2008 Back |
At last the Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund Child Care Facility Environmental Grants Application is available! In November 2007, legislation provided for reimbursement grants up to a maximum of $1,500 to owners or prospective owners of a child care center to defray the cost of the new Department of Children and Families requirement of obtaining a No Further Action (NFA) letter from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) prior to obtaining license renewal or new licensure.
Only costs related to the Preliminary Assessment Report (PAR) are eligible for this reimbursement grant. Site Investigation and Remedial Investigation costs and NJDEP fees are not eligible. The application and certification forms are available on-line at the NJDEP Site Remediation Program web page http://www.nj.gov/dep/srp/finance/hdsrf/hdsrf_ccfg.htm.
The NJDEP will award funding based on the cost to produce the PAR. It is necessary to submit one original and one copy of the application, certification, NFA, PAR and invoice of environmental consultant to assist the NJDEP in determining the amount of the award. If the PAR has not yet been submitted for NJDEP review, you must include the PAR with the application forms. We point out that this is a reimbursement of expenses grant issued after the NFA has been given to the child care facility.
EWMA will assist you in meeting the new environmental requirements for licensing and renewal of licenses. Please contact us at 800-969-3159. |
