EWMA plants the state tree (red oak) in honor of Arbor Day 2008. - 4/25/2008 Back |
Environmental Waste Management Associates, LLC (EWMA) a full service, environmental consulting and remediation firm, has donated a Red Oak tree to the Lanidex office complex landscape in honor of Arbor Day 2008.
As an environmental company, EWMA knows it is important to demonstrate its commitment to conservation and the environment. Now more than ever planting trees is essential. Trees can reduce the erosion of topsoil, cut heating and cooling costs, clean the air and produce oxygen. They are a renewable resource and enhance the beauty and economic vitality of our homes, offices and community.
EWMA chose to celebrate Arbor Day with the planting of the red oak (Quercus borealis maxim) which is the official New Jersey state tree. Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. It has been over 130 years since J. Sterling Morton founded Arbor Day in Nebraska. His simple idea was to set aside a special day for tree planting and is celebrated each year on the last Friday in April.
