A large dairy manufacturer retained EWMA to provide a comprehensive environmental regulatory compliance review of their manufacturing operations to ensure that they were in compliance with the extensive state and federal environmental and health and safety regulations that apply to large manufacturing operations.

EWMA developed a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP), and continues to update and maintain this plan annually.  EWMA designed an underground clarifier as a pre-treatment unit for their existing waste water treatment system.  The clarifier is used for pH neutralization and reduction of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Total Suspended Solid (TSS) loadings within the process waste water stream.  As a result of the system installation, sewerage discharge fees have been significantly reduced and compliance attainment is 100%.

EWMA currently assists the client in complying with the New Jersey Toxic Catastrophic Prevention Act requirements for their refrigeration system.  As part of the services that are provided, EWMA conducts drills for evacuation procedures twice annually, assists in the constant monitoring and maintenance of the system, and prepares an annual report of conditions for submittal to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Projection (NJDEP).  EWMA is also responsible for conducting Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance audits, OSHA training, Right-to-Know compliance audits, process management surveys, and emergency response procedures.
